The company I chose to work with and around is Nike, and this is a
company that I would say is a model for diversity. a Nike has a very
clear policy around the company, and they make good on what they
say based on their activities. The company invested over 400 million
dollars into communities around the country, 130 million of which
went towards advancing equality! (Nike) I see this as a clear initiative
that shows Nike is one of the companies at the front of the battle for
diversity. A good way to ensure having a diverse team is to have a
hiring team that is diverse in its self! If your company has values that
preach the need for diversity, then the company should also ensure
that they are adhering to their values from the top to bottom of the
company. Nike has the Until We All Win initiative that is trying to get
equality seen in all major cities, and especially in sports! Nike has a
good CSR stance as well, with a statement from the CEO saying how
powerful a shared purpose can be. Nike has a long list of sustainable
development goals, and number one and two are no poverty and no
hunger. (Nike Purpose) This is a company looking to make sure the
entire world is included and has what it needs. My product, the Nike
Western Saddle and Tack Set, helps include anyone who wants to be
an equestrian get a jump start in a sport they may not have ever
dreamed of competing in due to the cost. Keeping prices low while
keeping quality high is the name of the Nike Western game!
