My definition of critical thinking is being able to recognize an issue , and be able to
come up with a solution to fix the issue. Critical thinking is a skill that we use on an
everday basis , but may not always realize it. Some characterisitcs of a critical
thinker are flexibility, effective communication and most importantly being open
minded. We have to be able to be open to seeing things in the perspective of others.
Seeing things in someone else's perspective may point out certain things that we
maybe did not catch on our own. This will help us in making wiser decisions in our
everyday critical thinking. Some of the barriers of critical thinking are distractions,
avoidance, and being narrow minded. I have to admit in my personal experiences
distractions has been one of my biggest barriers in critical thinking. This is often
background noise. Being narrow minded or avoiding the issue altogether is a real
compromise when it comes to critical thinking. I think it's a very poor decision to live
life this way.
One of the most interesting concept that I enjoyed learning about was the barriers to
critical thinking. The videos were very easy understand so they were not confsing at
all, but I do think these were great learning interactive activities.
