A good way a supermarket chain could incorporate farm-to-table is to
slowly introduce and educate their current consumers of the benefits
of farm to table principle. Many people are becoming more health
conscious and the decision to partner with local farms to obtain their
fresh products.

to-table principles into the grocery chain's supply chain?
Benefits:
-Building Relationships- a Can help boost the local economy and
support local farmers. Farm to table can help build relationships
between farmers and their consumers. (Plantssparkjoy , 2021)
-Environmental Benefits- Not having to ship long distances meaning
less trucks producing harmful greenhouse gases resulting in
pollution. (Plantssparkjoy , 2021)
-Health Benefits - Having foods shipped for long periods of time can
result in sub-par quality produce having poor taste. By producing
locally sourced ingredients, the community builds an attitude of self-
reliance and food security to free up dependence toward outside
resources. (Plantssparkjoy , 2021)
Challenges:
-Seasonality- One of the challenges faced with this movement is
coping with seasonal foods and ingredients which means more
constantly changing what is offered. On the flip side, this challenge
creates creativity and innovation for different farmers, restaurants
and supermarkets. (Plantssparkjoy , 2021)
-Higher Costs: It can be a bit more expensive to run a local and
organic farm while competing with the bigger commercial farms. The
heightened price range can be off-putting to suburban or rural

the supermarket to implement this endeavor?
Build a data center on the farm premises to store more useful
resources and information. Using artificial intelligence to predict the
farms water usage.
-What factors or metrics will determine whether you, as the COO,
support applying farm-to-table principles to the supermarket, and
why?
Factors that will determine that the COO supports the movement to
farm to table would be to provide as much information including the
benefits and challenges that both the supermarket and the
consumers will face. Addressing the increase in prices but also letting
workers for the supermarket and customers know how beneficial this
change will be towards the environment and their health. Also bring
forward the local farm owners and let them tell their story as well.
