Dixie has done more toward sustainability than I would have
originally thought. When I think of Dixie cups I immediately think of
the weird plastic-like coating on the inside of the cup. That doesn't
necessarily bring eco-friendly to mind. However, I was pleasantly
surprised to read about their sustainable paper products. For every
tree that is used virtually none of that tree goes to waste as well as
plant a new tree. (Dixie, 2022). Their products are also made from
80% plant-based materials, and do not use any polystyrene foam,
which is a huge concern in the disposable dishes department
By prioritizing the plant-based materials and attempting to maintain
the regrowth of trees, Dixie still runs a risk of using a finite resource.
