My name is Trina and I am currently working on my Master's in
Accounting with a focus on taxation. It has been a long road. I began
taking classes at the Community College of Vermont (CCV) back in
2016. At CCV I had a double major in Accounting and Business. I
continued on to Champlain College and received a BS in Accounting
in December and then began my Master's program in January here at
SNHU. I live in the small town of Brattleboro, VT with my fiance'.
Between the two of us, we are either at work or working on some
sort of school project. He is getting a BS in Business. When I need to
take a "break" we go to Wells, ME because I find the ocean calming
no matter the time of year. It is usually during class time so my
computer goes with me and I can concentrate better once I have
taken the short pause. Our next planned trip is May 23 and we will be
there for two nights and three days. I have two grown children who
are 26 and 30.
My dad always told me, "Communication is the most important part
of any relationship". I have found this to be true whether it is personal
or business. I think when it comes to leadership that they should be
transparent. When working with a team if they understand why
something new is being tried they would be more open to changes
coming later that might affect them. If people know things that don't
really affect them then they will trust their leader more than if they
were kept out of the loop. They have a chance to see the big picture
so when it comes down to changes the team or department may see
later they will be able to understand more. This also gives them a
chance to find out why the decisions are being made. Trust and
honesty are important when building relationships with employees.
