Individuals who are neurodiverse should not conform to mainstream
society. Having a neurological disability, I have had multiple surgeries
to be what society deems normal. I think society may slow down the
bullying rate. We can move away from the stigma by still offering
support and being kind while showing others the same respect. The
course theme that bests fits is Eiths. Neurodiversity is an important
aspect of society. If everyone thinks the same way, it would be
impossible to gain new perspectives on different ideas and thoughts.
However, neurodivergences are often treated as a condition, instead
of just a difference in thoughts and ideas. People with
neurodivergences do not think and respond to stimuli in the same
way as neurotypical people in society, and they should not be forced
to conform to what is "normal", especially since there is nothing
wrong with being neurodivergent. By utilizing different ways of
thinking, society could gain a new perspective. One of the best ways
to move away from thinking that neurodivergences are lesser than is
to integrate neurodiverse people into places of power. This would
provide an example to everyone that all forms of thinking are
acceptable and welcomed. Many people who have a neurodiverse
way of thinking can provide a new perspective on social issues as
well as learning more about emotional intelligence.
