Identified Trends
Based on your analysis of the survey data, identify areas that have significant changes over the
years.
After analyzing the data in the employee satisfaction survey, almost all focus areas have
had a decrease in the percent favorable results from four years ago to today. One area
that saw a large decrease in favorable percent is “company & strategy”. Of the three
questions asked for this focus area, two of them decreased by over 10% in the last four
years. It seems like all the questions that led to the largest drop in percent favorable is
how leadership cares for their employees and the work that they do. One area the
company is staying consistent is in their care for their customers. Over four years, the
percent favorable has stayed consistent and about 70% proving that the company is
doing something right toward those outside of the company.
Focus Areas
List three to four areas where you will apply the GROW model to effect change in the
organization.
1. Company Strategy
2. Job Satisfaction
3. Working Conditions
Reality—Current State
For each focus area, identify the current state in one or two sentences.
1. There is a big decline in the company & strategy area because employees feel like they
are not cared about and that the decisions being made by the company do not fall in line with
the mission and values of the organization. While these sections do not have the lowest
favorable percentages, all being over 50% favorable in the last four years, there has been over a
10% drop showing that the company needs to improve.
2. Employees seem to like the company, and are proud to work for the company, but their
satisfaction with the job they are doing is decreasing. The three questions that had major
decreases were already low, all under 60% favorable four years ago, and have decreased at least
12% more since then which should be concerning to leadership.
3. Most of the working conditions focus area did not see major drops but the two that
dropped over 10% in the last four years revolved around employee trust in leadership. These
two questions had low percent favorable already and dropped at least 15% more proving less
trust for those leading the organization.
Desired Future State—Where Would You Like to Be?
For each focus area, identify in one or two sentences where you want to be in two years.
Consider the potential impact on survey results over time, the “why.”
1. Communicating the mission and the vision of the organization and ensuring employees
understand how business decisions relate to this will make for a better sense of belonging in the

organization. Increasing this focus area to at least 75% favorable is important to ensure all
employees are working toward a common business strategy.
2. In two years, the organization needs to have a higher job satisfaction, bringing the
favorable percent up above 50%. Those who are satisfied with their job and feel that their work
is appreciated are better workers and more beneficial to company results.
3. Communication between leadership and employees needs to be more often and
transparent. Trust is important for the organization to succeed and transparency will bring the
survey results up.
Identified Gaps—Obstacles
For each focus area, identify one or more obstacles or gaps between the current state and the
goal. Consider skill gaps, organizational culture, and resources among other things.

2. [Insert text.]
3. [Insert text.]
4. [Insert text.]
IF any of the identified gaps (obstacles) impact the goal(s) identified in Desired Future State,
revise the goals USING TRACKED CHANGES. Also, add why the goal(s) needed to be changed
based on identified gaps and obstacles.
The Way Forward—Action
For each focus area and related goal, identify one or more action steps that will close the gap
between current state and desired state. Provide details on what the steps will entail and who
will be involved and provide a rationale.
