Key Points
The case is about Apple and its corporate social responsibility. The key point in the case
study is that when a company is doing business globally, there are many ethical issues that may
arise such as “corruption and bribery, moral, environmental and social considerations that all
need to be considered” (Dunung, 2019). What is important is how the country acts socially
responsible to counter such challenges. There are different stakeholders involved in the case such
as Apple’s customers, employees, suppliers, and investors. According to Lee, Moi, and Mellahi
(2016), some of the issues raised are poor working conditions and labor practices between Apple
and the suppliers. Other ethical issues also arise such as juvenile workforce, violation of women
rights, and pollution of the environment.
