Worldview Definition
An individual’s worldview is drastically different within each person and directly
defining it can be challenging. Worldview can be defined as the comprehensive framework of
one’s basic beliefs about things (Wolters, 2005). A person’s beliefs and individual ideology will
directly impact the worldview they perceive. Ethos is the animating spirit of a community
derived from its overall worldview (Naugle, 2002). This is indicative that worldviews shift
throughout different regions of the world and that we need to be open minded when it comes to
our own individual perceptions of the world.
