In 4-6 sentences, please discuss an area of death and loss you think differently about as a
result of this module: week’s reading.
Your Answer:
After engaging with Worden's (2018) insights on grief, I've come to see the normalcy of various
emotional and behavioral responses to loss in a different light. His emphasis on accepting and
understanding these responses as part of the grieving process has broadened my perspective.
Worden's (2018) model provides a structured framework for comprehending grief, allowing
individuals to navigate their emotions, which I believe is crucial in helping people cope with loss.
Additionally, Worden's (2018) focus on the present experience of grief, while valuable, does not
inherently address the spiritual or eternal aspects of grief. This makes me appreciate the unique
contribution of a Biblical worldview in dealing with death and loss, emphasizing an eternal
perspective that transcends the immediate pain. It's made me think more about the integration
of psychological models like Worden's with spiritual perspectives to provide a more holistic
approach to helping individuals in their journey through grief.
