Week 3D: Revision, Editing, and FACT Strategies
As I look at the new perspective on revision and editing, they both are important parts of the writing
process. It was also important for me to remember that these steps are separate from each other. With
new outlook this will help me on emails, memos, newsletters and more that teachers must send out
daily or weekly. With revising I see where I need to pay more attention to formatting. With editing I can
pay more attention to my grammar, spelling and punctuation errors. When using the FACT strategy, it will
help on the importance of keeping emails and newsletters organized and straight to the point. It will help
me with keeping it to the main point and leaving out what’s not important. Now I can look at my
checklist while writing documents for my workplace. As I’ve learned more about these strategies it
makes me feel more comfortable with writing.
