Abstract
The paper will provide a summary of technical and social terminologies among
organizations. This will look into the position of stakeholders and the definition of collaborative
workings to meet objectives. The focus will be on SMEs, multinationals, and large institutions. It
will look at an organization as a collaborative framework of individuals. Organizations have to
work through structures, workplace relationships, and the connection with the external
environment to influence a business. The application of open, rational, and natural perspectives
will also create an understanding of different internal and external factors to influence business
operations. The focus of the rational system will focus on the organizational structure, while the
natural perspective will look into human behavior and motivation. Lastly, the study's focus on an
open perspective will evaluate the components of strategies associated with the combination of
rational and natural perspectives. Focusing on the important technological areas in an
organization will look into how individuals use different technologies to improve
communication, efficiency, and security for successful business outcomes. With an evaluation of
the boundaries in an organization, it will be important to identify business outcomes. We will
conclude the research with our very own personal perspective.

Technology Structures and Social Boundaries
Introduction
An organization requires technical structures and social boundaries to establish
operational efficiency and effectiveness. Just like information technology networks and systems
working through a specific architecture, so do organizations. Organizations coordinate
themselves uniquely through technological structures and social boundaries for goal achievement
and necessary task achievements. For an organization to have a viable and robust structure, it
must account for the alignment of technical-related operations and social boundaries. For this, it
is essential to understand the definition of technology structures and social boundaries. A
technical system has reference to a collaborative framework that combines machine and methods
for desired outcomes (Scott, W. Richard, & Davis, 2016, p. 125).
On the other hand, social terminologies comprise of the structure model adopting
different roles. These comprise of liaison, staffing, project teams, and task force. A clear
understanding of the technical and social terminologies among organizations will lead to
addressing the application of open, rational, and natural perspectives about the employment of
technology and social boundaries.
Summary of Technical and Social Terminology in Organizations
An overview of technical and social terminologies among organizations depends on how
organizational stakeholders define and apply them precisely to fit their needs and interests. The
definitions focus on collaborative workings of individuals to achieve a certain purpose, comply
with specific processes, and perform unique functions. Organizations include small and medium
enterprises, multinationals, and large institutions with different operational backgrounds, which
interact with stakeholders. Technical and social terminologies begin with group and objectives.
TECHNOLOGY STRUCTURES AND SOCIAL BOUNDARIES 4
An organization's concept has to do with the gathering of more than two individuals to achieve
specific objectives-entrepreneurship, communication, and different operational layers (Mike,
2017, p. 5). Structures assist stakeholders in an organization to propel the success of operations
established as initial and desired objectives.
Another significant terminology comprises of social factor that focuses on the
interactions of stakeholders such as employees, managers, governments, and customers, among
others to accomplish organizational objectives. The main focus is on workplace relationships. On
the other hand, external influence as a terminology looks into the interactions between an
organization and the external environment that initiates successful organizational operations. An
interaction between an organization and its different environments has to consider technological
terms such as software development, apps, digital marketing, business digitization, and
workplace simulation to ensure effective business decision-making processes and outcomes. An
understanding of the terminologies ensures that an organization remains keener on promoting its
objectives in meeting the required operational development about the competition.
Organizations applying Open, Rational, and Natural Perspectives
Different perspectives among organizations are instrumental in promoting the desired
operational outcomes. Organizations serve as entities with the collection of participants.
However, an organization’s purpose and the relationship it has with the motivation behind its
participants to work in its environment for goal achievement creates different perspectives. The
perspectives comprise natural, rational, and open systems, which are essential in influencing
effective decision-making and successful organizational operations in the market.
Rational Perspective
TECHNOLOGY STRUCTURES AND SOCIAL BOUNDARIES 5
The rational perspective of an organization mirrors an organization as one that exhibits a
relatively high formalization degree. It discusses an organization involving participants who
possess sole interest in acquiring common goals. Rational organizations have rational
organizations with the alignment of structure and operations. This limited perception of
rationality fails to address the ethical position regarding an organization. It only focuses on the
organizational structure and purpose of an organization. The purpose serves as the engine for
drawing its participants, while the well-defined structure of an organization makes it to become
rational.
The application of an organization may comprise of its position in the market remaining
rational due to the specificity of its structure despite it having a wrong background in its purpose
(Barron, Pereda, & Stacey, 2017, p. 192). This means that the formal structure of an organization
may sometime fail to serve as a technical term. Rationality and its application define roles,
reporting structures, and operational processes with the scope of an organization.
Natural Perspective
Organizations apply the natural perspective to critic the application of the rational
perspective in their operational environments. It takes accounts for the social interests of
participants of an organization. The participant of stakeholders and their commitment to
achieving the organization's overall goals make them become natural members of an
organization. Organizations have different agreed-upon goals that may either be complex or
simple, making them have different meanings among participants associated with different levels
of the organizations. Not every organization may devote all resources for the production of
services and products.
TECHNOLOGY STRUCTURES AND SOCIAL BOUNDARIES 6
As such, a joining member of an organization for the above purpose and their job
becomes irrelevant to product/service production; the situation may see a disconnect between the
goal of an organization and the purpose of the participant. Organizations apply the natural
perspective to do away with formal structures in influencing effective business operations. A
natural perspective provides an organization with more input on the behavior of its participants
instead of only using formal structures and shared agreement to achieve organizational goals.
Open Perspective
The discussion of the paper, to this point, focuses on closed mechanical systems. That is,
each system was established due to the influence of the organization's external factors. The
natural perspective introduces human behavior and fails to focus on the environmental influence
of an organization. An example of the application of the open perspective focuses on the
interdependence of all systems and their combined parts. With the addition of the environment in
the above relationship, efficiency may be achieved at the highest possible level. The result
comprises the system gaining a more open and organic outcome. The same see processes and the
structures of the organizations going beyond its walls and processes.
The environment where an organization operates shapes infiltrates and supports its
operations. The benefit of an open perspective and its application has less focus on formal and
informal structures. The main focus revolves around components that facilitate forward
movement in terms of the overall development. An open system brings about progress in terms
of organizational maturity to the point of sustainability though the alignment of interdependency
between resources and inputs. Multiple subsystems in a hierarchical manner, not focusing on
power, are important because they influence an organization's effective functioning outcomes.
Areas of Technology that are Important for Participants
TECHNOLOGY STRUCTURES AND SOCIAL BOUNDARIES 7
Areas of technology are crucial in supporting the required developmental outcomes and
competitive basis for organizations' operations. Therefore, stakeholders and organizations will
continue to have specific reasons as to why they choose unique areas of technology. Currently,
organizations continue to expand in terms of applying technological devices and processes.
Different areas remain important for organizations and their participants.
Communication Area
Many organizations are exposed to different arrays of software and applications to
support communication with their different participants in the market. Organizations and their
participants have to choose several technical aspects before choosing specific communication
ways. An example comprises of an organization using phone services to promote instant
feedback due to quality voice with consistency. Skype and video conferencing promote face to
face interactions with participants. Participants, such as employees and customers, are highly
motivated due to effective communication. Employees remain informed about the tasks they
perform while customers have the right data concerning the market's required and new products
(Mike, 2017, pp. 1). Communication system breakdown leads to multiple harms such as a limited
flow of information and misunderstandings.
Technological Efficiency
An organization will focus on the flexible application of a technology to improve process
and stakeholder performance. With the world experiencing advancements in the field of robotics
and applied sciences, organizations gain the right capacities in facilitating the required services
to their customers. Moreover, artificial intelligence facilitates better decision-making in terms of
using technology. An example comprises the use of chatbots, which serve as efficient customer

representatives in dealing with queries of customers in the market. The results comprise of
saving time and effort that is applicable in using human labor, due to increased productivity.
Security Areas of Organizational Developments
As organizations continue to increase in terms of their size, productivity, operational
development, and position in the market, they continue to remain exposed to online attacks and
internal data intrusion. Cybersecurity defense systems can protect organizations from digital
threats and attacks. With the era of cloud computing in place, persistency is experienced in the
threats associated with cyber-attacks. The situation leaves organizations to protect their data
through the enhancement of secure online accounts with significant information and data.
Issues with organizational Boundaries for Participants
Boundaries for participants in an organization focuses on the actors/people with
involvement in the organization that boundaries affect them. It evaluates relations, which
comprise of behavioral patterns influenced by patterns. Lastly, boundaries focus on activities that
revolve around the events related to organizational boundaries. Organizational culture is a
boundary established to evaluate an organization's personality because it creates an
understanding of how individuals do things. It has to do with formal and informal values, beliefs,
and norms, which control the interactions between groups and individuals, both internally and
externally (Neudecker et al., 2016, p. 31).
Boundaries focus on how individuals share values, inform their colleagues about possible
ways of achieving growth and development, and processes to initiate business development.
Boundaries are established by rules and regulations revolving around the performance of
employees, the attained roles/responsibilities, and the relations possessed by participants in their
TECHNOLOGY STRUCTURES AND SOCIAL BOUNDARIES 9
environments. Boundaries determine the behavioral traits and mental thinking of participants
involved with the operations of an organization.
Personal Perspective
I believe that an open system is an outcome of understanding how a business can achieve
its competitive position in the market. An open system/perspective is better because it combines
both the natural and rational perspectives to ensure the alignment of processes, behavioral traits
of participants, organizational structure, and environmental influences for successful business
outcomes. My understanding of the professional environment of an organization is one that
comprises of applying both technological structures and social boundaries for efficiency. I
believe that individuals have to understand business processes from social and technological
perspectives. With boundary-related structures, an organization can understand how to use its
technology and social background to benefit participants in its internal and external processes. I
appreciate a flexible operational environment that focuses on using both human and technical
resources for successful business outcomes.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the paper has shown the relationship between technical structures and
social boundaries about its importance in promoting positive development among organizations.
A rational system bases its application on the organizational structure and overall agreement of
participants in an organization that influences goal achievement. Whereas, the natural
perspective criticizes the rational perspective by focusing on behavior and motivation as crucial
factors of influencing development. The open system combines human behaviors, motivation,
organizational structure, and the organization's environment to promote the successful
implementation of strategies for business outcomes.
TECHNOLOGY STRUCTURES AND SOCIAL BOUNDARIES 10
With the presentation of the perspectives, an organization identifies important
technological areas such as communication, technological efficiency, and security to ensure data
protection and how technology influences development. The result includes the establishment of
organizational boundaries to influence decision-making. Issues such as regulations, behavioral
traits, relations, and employees' thinking are considered as the various types of boundaries in an
organization. Concerning the above, I have concluded that the dynamic nature of an organization
depends on the relations between its stakeholders and processes.
