If I were a therapist, I would be sure to make sure that my office is considered a
comfortable safe space for each of my clients. I would do this by ensuring
comfortable lighting, natural views, art, and enabling room for the clients to bring
their social support with them to therapy such as friends and family. I have been in
therapy before myself and all of these things have been provided except for the
ability to bring friends or family to a session. I can understand why, but just starting
out this is something that would have made me feel much more comfortable with
therapy and meeting my therapist for the first few times as well. I would manage the
therapeutic relationship with my clients by ensuring all conditions are met through
first, making my clients as comfortable as they can be and let them know at any
time they can express feelings to me and ask questions, knowing that their
information will not leave the room and that they will not be judged for anything
talked about in our sessions. I would focus on the clients feelings more than their
actions and help them discover more about who they are and how to cope with
things, before making any rash decisions. Lastly, to ensure a proper therapeutic
