I would like to work for a company that follows Theory Y because they let their
employees have freedom and trust they will get their jobs done. I like being able to
do things in my own way, not necessarily given exact directions on how it needs to
be done. I would not like to work for a company that follows Theory X because I do
not want someone looking over my shoulders all day long. I like where I am given
freedom, and if I need some help or anything I can ask for it. It make me
uncomfortable when someone is just watching me basically waiting for me to make a
mistake.
I have work for both types. When I worked for a company that follows Theory X, I
didn't last long. I need a company that appreciates is workers, and trusts them.
When I worked for a company that follows Theory Y, it was honestly one of my
favorite jobs I have ever worked at. There thing was "Be You" which means be
whoever you are. As long as the work is getting done, and done correctly, they do
not care what you have to do to get it done or who you are. If you are enjoying work
then they are happy. They also gave a lot of incentives to not only recruit more
people, but keep their current employees.
I prefer to work for employers who use Theory Y systems because they trust their
employees and give them the freedom to create, which keeps them motivated to
work and learn; companies have many employees, each of whom has di&erent
perspectives and ideas from which companies can bene't greatly; companies can
achieve amazing results by not limiting them.I dislike working for 'rms who employ
Theory X because they monitor and control individuals; when this happens, the work
atmosphere is usually di)cult; they treat people like robots that don't care what
they think and only care about getting the product/service done.I worked for a
company that used Theory X, but it had a lot to do with the type of job I did. It was a
factory that recorded video tapes, and I was part of the team that had to prepare
blocks of video recording by supplying the cassettes that needed to be recorded and
picking up the ones that had already been recorded. It was such a physically
demanding job that it had nothing to do with being creative, innovative, or learning
something new.
