Critical thinking is thinking on or analyzing a situation based on your own personal
experiences, what you believe to be correct based on the evidence you find, and
what is morally right to you in order to make the best decision. Some characteristics
of a critical thinker is having the confidence to analyze and provide facts for what
you believe, being able to communicate effectively your idea or thought whether in
person or in writing, the ability to find information that supports my theory, being
able to adapt to change, being open-minded to other opinions factual or personal,
showing empathy and paying attention, effective problem solving, and learning to
work with a team. Common barriers to critical thinking are denial, ignorance,
distractions, avoidance from task or things you are not familiar with. You can
overcome these barriers by doing your own research, analyzing the information
found and effective communicating what is is that you believe with supporting facts.
Being a frequent critical thinker will build the confidence needed to overcome
barriers. The most interesting activity from this week would have to be the "Barriers
to critical thinking" activity. That activity and video helped me recognize where and
when my barriers start to distract me from the finial thought or action
