I still have a fair amount of reading to do in chapter two, but I still took the
proficiency test so I can work on the discussion question. From chapter one, I scored
lowest in individual characteristics and economic factors that influence personal
financing. I was unsure of a couple of the questions so I will definitely be going back
to review the material and do the practice on it. For chapter two, my lowest scores
were in developing a system for financial record keeping and preparing a personal
balance sheet and explaining how compound interest benefits investors. I have a
small amount of experience with financial record keeping, but I know I need to work
on preparing a balance sheet. As for the compound interest, I know I have a lot to
learn in that area.
I feel like I was on a good financial path about eight years ago, but life happens and
now I'm starting back at square one. The calculator made me realize exactly how
much there is to do and plan for in a shorter amount of time in order to even come
close to achieving my goals.
