The four steps involved in supporting your messages with reliable
information is to plan your research and locate your data and
information, always remember to evaluate your information sources
this will include using you results. The most challenging step
for me would have to be locating the results and data
because the internet has a way of creating an illusion which
makes it difficult to sort the needed and unneeded information.
The courses at the university of phoenix has helped prepare
for research necessary for report writing because they have taught
me all the necessary tools like how to properly write and
cite a paper. The university of phoenix has a plagiarism tool
that helped me always stay original when submitting my work
and it also provided less time for research it helped me
narrow down researching so much. The steps in supporting your
message with reliable information’s are Planning your research,
Locate the data and information you need, Process the data
and information you located, Apply your findings, Manage information
efficiently. The most difficult steps for me would Ben processing
the information I located and managing the information. I’m still
working on making sure I have all the information from the
courses to properly use the research procesto prepare proper
reports in the workplace . I still need more work on it.

still need more work on it. The most important step for me
is planning where I have the most trouble with this step
and how I even approach this step gives me trouble on how
to start. So for me this step is the most challenging for
me with how I set up this step because from this step it
goes to the next steps so this step affects the rest and
how they plan out all together. The next steps you would
do for this would be finding the data and processing the
data and using it. Next from this would have to be applying
the information you find this can be also hard to apply since
the set up of how you use the information you find can
be hard to know how to apply the information. How the
courses have helped my research report writing in the workplace
is that I now know the set up more or the approach in
other words. So for me planning for anything is hard for
me so learning the steps helps me learn how to handle this
more and know what to do. Making sure you have reliable
information for any message is important. The four steps that
you can take to support your messages with reliable information
are to plan your research. The next step is to locate your
data, finding where the data you need is and finding out
how to get that information. Next you have to process and
analyze the information collected and have it processed into
something you can use. The last step is to apply the data
you have collected by summarizing it or moving forward with
recommendation and conclusion, as stated in the textbook. I think
the most difficult step would be the third, interpreting the
information you collect and making it something others will
understand moving forward can be difficult. Its also important to
educate on the information your trying to carry forward. My
classes so far have not been focused very much on workplace
report writing. In my first course we talked about report writing
but I think practice is what makes reports easier. I did not
have much practice so far in any of my classes. The four
steps involved in supporting your messages with reliable information
is: planning your research, locating data and information, evaluating
information sources, and using your research results. Planning your
research results involves finding your purpose of your research.
Locating Data and Information involves collection of data, either
through magazines, newspapers, or interviews and surveys. Evaluating
information sources involves making sure that the sources you
use are credible, honesty, and reliable. The last step involves
using your research results, after you collect data and information
you then will compile into useful information to draw a
conclusion that states facts. I feel that the most challenging
step for me would be evaluating information sources. I know
you shouldn’t believe everything on the internet but sometimes
material online seems very reliable but then you discover it
isn’t a credible web source. Knowing if the author is credible
isn’t as easy as it sounds, you have to make sure they
aren’t biased or just stating their opinions. University of Phoenix
has been a great help in preparing me for the research
process necessary for proper writing in the workplace such as
taking this course has been very resourceful in providing
communication skills that I can incorporate into my career. The
university also offers a plagiarism tool that has been such a
life saver, I would run my papers through this system and
it will let me know if there is something I missed that
needs to be credited to the original author, or if there is
something that could be at risk for plagiarism. Although I
wouldn’t do it on purpose, there may be a statement I
thought wasn’t someone else’s but ended up belonging to someone
else that I need to quote and give credit to. There are
four steps involved in supporting your messages with reliable
information. First you need to locate the data and information
that you need, process the data and information you need,
apply your findings, and manage information efficiently.
There is a lot of information out there and often times it
can feel like an enormous task. There are two different types
of research which are secondary and primary. It is best to
apply secondary research as this is data that has already been
collected and published in newspapers, magazines, websites, books,
and other various reports. Primary research has not yet been
collected and to get the information one has to do interviews
and surveys. (Bovee, C., & Thill, J., 2016). To process data,
you need to gather information and be able to determine
whether it is valid and truthful. There are so many sources
available out there it can be too much to decipher. When
gathering information you should ask yourself certain questions to
verify if the information is true.
To apply your findings you need to use your research results.
Once you have gathered all the information you need, you will
have to organize it based on the data that is needed for
the report. Some of the steps you need to take with this
process are quoting, paraphrasing, and summarizing. (Bovee, C., &
Thill, J., 2016).
To manage the information efficiently companies are always looking
to save money. When it comes to research, companies can
save money by sharing information in computer-based systems such
as knowledge management systems. For me I think that the
most challenging step is processing the data and the information
that is needed. There is information overload out there and I
still have not mastered on-line research yet in terms of knowing
it's validity or not. In returning to school for the second
time with University of Phoenix ,I have kept all my research
to the on-line library so that I know it is valid.
It is not so much the courses that have helped with the
research as much as the teachers. Course after course the
feedback that I receive on papers and presentations have helped
greatly when it comes to preparing me for the research process.
In the beginning ,I would find things off Wikipedia, one day
a professor told me that it is not a valid reference. Each
course I take, the professors have taught me as I go to
be sure I am preforming my research properly. The on-line
library to me has made research much easier because it takes
the guess work out of where I should go for my data.
Locating the data and information you need might be the most
challenging due to unreliable websites. Credible information can be
hard to research, for example Wikipedia can be unreliable due
to the fact that anybody can edit the website. Asking yourself
questions like does this information sound accurate? Always go
further and dig deeper into your findings. I personally do a
lot of my research in the University Library tool. I learned
from my previous classes on how to search for accurate
information. It is an essential tool which provides reliable/ credible
information. It provides less time for research since you can
narrow down your searches. I am thankful for this tool. The
four steps involved in supporting your messages with reliable
information include:
1) Plan your research: arrange in advance your plan, this
helps with reliable findings.
2) Locate the data and information you need: Finding where
the information is and locating it.
3) Process the data and information you located: Find further
information, in depth research.
4) Apply your findings: Sum up information, breakdown conclusions,
and include suggestions.
The four steps involved in supporting reliable information, as
expressed by Bovee and Thill:
1. Plan your research.
2. Locate the data and information you need.
3. Process the data and information you located.
4. Apply your fundings. (2016)
The most challenging step, for me, would be to located the
data and information. There are many search engines and websites
that seem like they can help like Bing, Google and Wikipedia.
Even though there is so much information available to us,
there is also information that is not true or used to persuade
readers. In my previous classes, and in this current class, I was
taught which websites can be used to find reliable information,
such as website ending in .org or .gov. The university library
is also a big help when looking for information in books or
articles from the past and the present. There are also search
engines that are just for finding information that is credible
for the report. I have also been taught, when using information
straight from a source or paraphrasing, how to properly cite
the information that has been used. The four steps involved in
supporting messages with reliable information are planning research,
locating information data, processing data and applying the findings.
I feel as the most challenging step of all four would be
applying the findings since you would need to make sure you
have everything in order and correct before you send out your
message. All the other steps seem easier to put into order
its the final step that can take more time. The courses I
have taken so far at University of Phoenix have helped me
prepare for the research process very well I have learned so
much from all the courses I have taken and everything has
been great to know. As for in the work place I feel I
know how to construct the right emails for the right times
and what needs to be in them and what is too much
information. The four steps involved in supporting messages with
reliable information include planning the research, locating the
required data and information for the research, processing that the
located data and information, and managing the information in an
efficient manner (Supporting Your Messages with Reliable Information,
2019). Out of these steps, the most challenging step is processing
the captured data and information. In order to process the
information, it is necessary to use statistical analysis and other
processing. This further makes the step more complex and
challenging in nature. The courses at the University of Phoenix
have helped significantly to prepare for the research process that
is necessary for proper report writing. The modules that have
been covered have helped to adopt an integrated approach while
working on a topic. For instance, the subjects focus on the
quality and reliability of information as well as the language
that is used for report writing. Such an approach has played
a key role in the dynamic academic backdrop. The holistic
approach is of critical importance as it enables a learner to
value the importance of business communication and integrating
reliable and authentic piece of information in the research paper.

different steps that are involved in supporting the intended message
with factual information. The four steps involved in supporting

Planning is the most important step of any research project; a
solid plan yields better results in less time.
Locate the data and information you need. Your next step
is to figure out where the data and information are and
how to access them.
Process the data and information you located. The data and
information you find probably won’t be in a form you can
use immediately and may require statistical analysis or other
processing.
Apply your findings. You can apply your research findings in
three ways: summarizing information, drawing conclusions, and
developing recommendations.
Manage information efficiently. Many companies are trying to
maximize the return on the time and money invested in business
research by collecting and sharing research results in a variety
of computer-based systems, known generally as knowledge management
systems. the four steps I came across were to plan the
research, locate the information, process information, apply findings.
Planning the research is focusing on what you're researching.
Having a plan saves time. Locating the information step consists
of finding the necessary avenues for your specific research.
Processing the information is weeding out the unnecessary parts
of the research that do not benefit or support your message.
Lastly, applying the findings involves summarizing, drawing conclusions
and providing recommendations. I think locating the information
would be the most challenging because we have the luxury of
having many different resources available to us. For example,
google, University Library, libraries and books. However, not
everything is credible. We have to essentially research to research
to make sure we aren't providing false information to support
our message. The four steps involved in supporting your messages
with reliable information is to analyze the situation, gather your
information, select the right combination of media and channels,
and then to organizing your information. All of these steps are
very important to be able to figure out how to get your
message across to others. In my personal opinion I think
selecting the right combination of media and channels would be
the most challenging because there are so many different places
and ways to get your information now days. Of course everyone
wants to make sure they have the correct information. Its like
Fox News and CBS, they share the same information but in
completely different ways, by turning the subject into a positive
note or negative. I have always felt like I have had a
hard time writing papers through school no matter what I was
writing and I think University of Phoenix has helped me a
lot. Mostly this class because it is really the first class on
here that I have taken that really shows you the in and
outs on how to write a proper report in the workplace. The
four steps that are involved in supporting your messages with
reliable information is number 1. Plan your research (a solid
plan yields a better results in less time.) 2. Locate the data
and information that you need 3. process the data and
information you located 4. apply your findings and lastly mange
information efficiently. In my opinion the step that might be
the most challenging is number 2 . Having to locate the
information that you need. Because you have to find out where
the information is located, then you have to find out how
to access the information it is that you need. sometimes you
have to deeply do some research information is not going to
always just be right there in front of you in black and
white. you actually have to put some thought into whatever it
is that you are doing. The courses that i have taken so
far have prepared me for research by showing me the correct
steps to take when it comes down to doing the research.
also it have shown me different strategist that i can use to
prepare for the research that i'm doing. When preparing to
write a long messages there are steps to take to ensure you
are supporting your message with reliable information. Is the
source have a reputation for honesty and reliability, is the
source potentially biased, where did the source get the information,
and is the author credible.
Supporting your Messages with Reliable Information;
.Plan your research is the most important step of any research
project, a sold plan yields better result in less time. Locate
the data and information you need and figure out where the
data and information are and how to access them..Process the
data and information you located. Apply your findings there are
three ways, summarizing information, drawing conclusions, and
developing recommendation. Through the courses that I have taken
through University of Phoenix has help me with research a
great deal to prepare me for writing in a workplace. By
using the Centre of Writing Excellence, it help me with
grammar basics to putting the finishing touches on my papers.
I did download Riverpoint Writer to help with in-text citations
which I am still working on. The University of Phoenix Library
is a good place to get reliable information. The four steps
involved in supporting a message with reliable information is
planning your research, locating data and information, evaluating
information sources, and using your research results. Of the listed
steps that I would find most challenging is either planning
your research or locating data and information. I tend to
procrastinate which leaves me minimal time to plan my research
and with procrastination it also forces me to usually go with
the first resource I locate when I need supporting evidence for
any message. I tend to do this because I usually rush to
get things done and by doing this I risk using sources with
outdated information or using information that may have a bias.
