You have been appointed as the lead for developing a Security Incident Response Plan (SIRP) for your
organization. Your objective is to create a comprehensive plan that ensures the organization can
effectively respond to security incidents.
Write a paper in which you:
1. **Explain the importance of a Security Incident Response Plan (SIRP) in an organization's
cybersecurity strategy. Discuss how a well-defined SIRP can minimize the impact of security
incidents.
2. **Identify the key components that should be included in a Security Incident Response Plan
(SIRP). Describe the roles and responsibilities of individuals and teams involved in incident
response.
3. **Discuss the steps involved in the incident response process, from incident detection and
assessment to containment, eradication, and recovery. Explain the purpose of each step.
4. **Explain the role of communication and coordination in incident response. Discuss how the
SIRP should address communication with internal stakeholders, external parties, and the public.
5. **Discuss the importance of post-incident analysis and reporting in the incident response
process. Explain how lessons learned from incidents can inform future security improvements.
6. **Use at least three (3) quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar
Websites do not qualify as quality resources.
