This is a scholarly research study. I know this research study is scholarly because it is
published in the Journal of Managerial Psychology, which is a peer-reviewed journal according
to the Gale, a Cengage Company website.
Empirical or non-empirical?
This research study is empirical. I know this research study is empirical because the study was
conducted by researchers who collected their own data from six different organizations:
three of them that implements corporate wellness programs and three of them that do not
(Ho, 1997).

This research study is scholarly. I know this research study is scholarly because it is published
in the American Journal of Cardiology (AJC), which is a peer-reviewed journal, according to
the AJC website.
Empirical or non-empirical?
This research study is empirical. I know this research study is empirical because the
researchers who carried out this research study, “recruited participants from one single
employer with 2 geographically disparate work locations, 1 serving as the site of active
intervention, the other serving as the control” to carry out their research (Milani & Lavie,
2009).

This is a scholarly research study. I know this is a scholarly research study because it is
published in the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, which is comprised of articles
about research written by experts in the field of occupational health psychology, according
to the American Psychological Association website.
Empirical or non-empirical?
This research study is non-empirical. I know this research study is non-empirical because the
authors collected researched data that had been reported by others, but did not collect
their own data for the article ( Richardson & Rothstein, 2008).

researchers collected their own data for the article ( Strickland et al., 2015).

This is a scholarly research study. I know this research study is scholarly because it is
published online in the PubMed Central database, which is peer-reviewed according to the
PMC homepage for the article.

This is a non-empirical research study. I know this research study is non-empirical because the
authors reviewed and included research that had been carried out by other researchers, but
did not include any data that they collected on their own for the article ( Anderko et al.,
2012).

This is a scholarly research study. I know this research study is scholarly because is it
published in the Health Affairs journal by the Chevy Chase: The People to People Health
Foundation Inc., which is peer-reviewed according to the publication details sections of the
article.

This research study is non-empirical. I know this is a non-empirical research study because the
author reviews the rhe research of others and does not include any data that they collected,
personally, for the article ( Madison, 2016).
