The Only Thing Constant Is Change
MKT 205
In your initial post, identify one current event that you believe is affecting how
consumers are making buying decisions. Then, address the following:
●Briefly summarize the current event and the specific ways in which it is
broadly affecting consumer behavior.
●Describe how the current event has specifically affected your own purchasing
decisions.
There is a recession in progress or pending, depending on who you ask and the
holiday season is here. Prices are still high, so many people, like myself are trying
to see how we can still have a great holiday without spending too much money.
People who were cautious during the pandemic's height and were just starting to
feel comfortable going out, now have to stay home again to save money. I'm
purchasing items only when on sale and if I see items deeply discounted. I decided
not to travel because flights are double and tripple their normal prices. I bought a
few items for my daughter, but I will probably save money by giving her a set
amount and let her spend it after the holidays.
I feel that the pandemic has brought about alot of inconvenient for changes not just
towards businesses but the people too. Ever since things have started making it's
way back to the way it was before Covid 19 everything with a price has increased
to ridiculous amounts of pricing. From housing to gas to groceries, clothing
daycare's everything is at an all time high and it seems as though its only still
increasing in more place than some. People are loosing jobs, homes, babysitters,
careers. School is no longer options with children because it takes 2-3 jobs to work
and pay for daycare with the government increasing eligibility for assistance. You
have to be poor to get help, or almost poor but you can't not do anything, but when
your doing anything it's too much money. Lanlords that are loosing out on their
profits have evicted families because they can't afford to keep free tenants, jobs are
only hiring for flexibility but how can we be flexible as mothers with closing
schools every couple of days due to a positive test. Everything has just become a
mess since covid has hit.
