The Health Care Criteria for Performance Excellence focuses on seven different
criteria, which include leadership, strategic planning, customer focus, workforce focus,
operation focus, results, and measurement, analysis, and knowledge management. However,
for the purpose of this paper, I will review only the leadership component. As a leader in the
healthcare industry, the reading has proved to be very beneficial for me. It has provided me
with valuable insights into how important is leadership in order to sustain and ensure the
growth of the organization. The reading has guided me to become a better leader in the
future.
I work as a Director of Health and Family Welfare. In this role, I have come across a
number of challenges. I am working on improving my leadership skills and looking for
opportunities to update my knowledge. I understand that as a leader, I have the responsibility
