Scenario #2. Cybersecurity is something we are taught in the military.
I have worked my entire career in the logistics department in the
Army and cyber awareness is something we are constantly taught and
retaught. How to protect our computer from hackers and using our
CAC card and not to leave our military computers open when we are
not present. The policies and procedures on how to properly attain
information or how to send secure emails is a priority to ensure safety
of data.
If I were to lose my computer and account was open, I would contact
my tech support and ask them to cancel my account and let them
know I have lost a government official computer. This a breach of
HIPAA and because of the potential security breach and patient
information being unsecure consequences such as loss of job or
securities for myself should happen. If the individual's ethics do not
align with the organization, I am working for then there is a definite
risk of security and privacy breach, and I would be at fault for not
maintaining my equipment and following policy guidelines of HIPAA
and cybersecurity.
