English 123- 3-4 Assignment Submission: Annotating Your Sources
1) Identifying my Sources: Article titled “Ethical issues across different fields of forensic
science” by author Praveen Kumar Yadav, Egypt Journal of Forensic Sciences. 2017; 7(1):10.
Published Online July 18th, 2017.
2) It seems this source is arguing about major problem’s in the Forensic Psychology field
and how it affects the personnel’s in this type of field in their everyday life and careers, is The
Ethical Dilemmas in Forensic Psychology. This source is using this evidence to support the
argument: Under no circumstances, the use of the profession must involve a deprivation of basic
human rights, enforced by the American Psychological Association in 2010. In cases where any
violation of ethical codes is discovered, one must try to either resolve the issue or minimize its
effect. Competence- It is stated that psychologists must work as per and to the best of their
competence boundaries, based on their education, training, supervised experience, consultation,
study or professional experience, enforced by the American Psychological Association in 2010.
To determine the competence, we must take into consideration the relative complexity and
nature of the service to be provided, relevant training and experience, preparation and study they
were able to devote to the matter, and the opportunity for consultation in a particular subject
matter area, which all of the rules and guidelines are enforced by the American Psychological
Association since 2010.
3) Personally, I believe the source is doing a good job of supporting its arguments because
well for one the author has taken the time to write the Article and bring these serious Ethical
issues, problems and dilemmas in Forensic Psychology fields.
I think this source will be very helpful in supporting my argument because it has plenty of
supporting resources and evidence to help me with trying to persuade people that there are a lot
of very extremely serious Ethical issues, problems and dilemmas in Forensic Psychology fields.

1) Identifying my Sources: And the book titled “Forensic Psychology: A very short introduction”
written by the Author David V. Cather, published in 2010, in The Oxford University Press.
2) It seems this source is arguing about major problem’s in the Forensic Psychology field
and multiple Ethical Dilemmas in Forensic Psychology. This source is using this evidence to
support the argument: In the book titled “Forensic Psychology: A very short introduction”
written by the
Author David V. Cather, published in 2010, in The Oxford University Press. Within the Forensic
Psychology/ Psychology field is there are multiple numbers of problems, issues, and dilemmas
that a practicing Forensic Psychologist deals with in his/ her everyday professional careers, with
the multiple Ethical issues and problems, juvenile incarcerations, discrimination, profiling, and
confidentiality to name a few. I can easily guess and bet that at least half of them involve ethical
questions. Issues and problems such as juvenile incarcerations, mental health capability of the
accused to stand trial, discrimination, profiling, confidentiality, objectivity, payment for his
service and so many others, come into consideration for the expert in a big way, even the
expert’s findings have an contradict personal views. Kalmbach, Karen C. and Lyons, Phillip M,
say that, these ethical issues must always be given a real close look, paid real special attention,
and to try to be fixed.

1) Identifying my Sources: The Article “Ethics Challenges in Forensic Psychiatry and
Psychology Practice” Edited by Ezra E. H. Griffith, Copyright Date: 2018, Published by:
Columbia University Press. “Part 4 ON WEARING TWO HATS: Ethics Challenges and Role
Conflicts in Forensic Practice” (pp. 56-66) Rebecca Weintraub Brendel. SINCE THE
EMERGENCE OF FORENSIC psychiatry and psychology as modern subspecialties, forensic
specialists have faced inherent potential and actual conflicts in their roles, responsibilities, and
obligations. Following the trial of John Hinckley Jr. and his acquittal by reason of insanity,
forensic practitioners fell under particular scrutiny regarding their practice. In a 1984
commentary, the psychiatrist and law professor Alan Stone gave his rationale for being a student
and scholar of law and psychiatry but not a forensic psychiatrist: it was because of “the
intellectual and ethical boundaries of forensic psychiatry” (Stone 1984, 58).
