I think that government regulations were set out to have good intentions and have been
created after many different mistakes. For example, The Sarbanes Oxley Act was created
after the scandal of Enron. This was learned from and will now protect future companies
and their investors in the future.""
I believe that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA) benefit society greatly.
The FDA is something that I think is necessary when you consider how a drug may affect
not just one person but millions of people. Can you imagine if a new cold medication was
not properly tested and was released to the world with drastic side effects? This would not
only cause health problems but mass panic."
I believe the EPA is also very important. I work for a company focused on mining and
manufacturing fertilizer products and I have seen the work that is done to ensure our
products are meeting these standards. This helps to protect our planet and ensures we are
environmentally responsible."
I don’t believe there is a specific industry that requires less regulation. I believe for these
regulations to work then we need to have a fair playing field. I do think environmental
companies or those that produce drugs or products for human consumption need to be
highly stringent in the two regulations I mentioned above."
