Introduction
Ethics does what you have said and when you have said you would do it, that
respects all stakeholders. Ethics is a morality system. It influences people's decision making and
living. It is about what is good for people and society and is also described as moral philosophy.
Ethics provides guidance on what to do in all aspects of life, whereas the law generally provides
specific rules for the preservation of society and its institutions. Laws and ethics are unique to
themselves. They are both equally important and go together. (Kumar, P. 2018)
The ethics of business does not only concern social commitments, but also
obligations towards employees, customers, suppliers and competitors. Corporate social
responsibility is about how much businesses owe to society as a whole. (MacDonald, C. 2005)
Many firms set up an ethics management programme, in line with their mission,
vision and values, to ensure good business ethics and social responsibility. Corporate corporate
responsibility is a critical part of corporate ethics.( Eisenstein, L. 2020) A responsible
organization takes into account and acknowledges the impact its decisions and actions have on
society and the environment. And acts in a way that contributes positively to social sustainability,
health and well-being. ( Murphy, C. 2019)
