THEO 630: Eschatology

During this course I have learned a lot about Eschatology, I thought I knew but
now I am even more aware than before the course. As a pastor I want to make sure that those I
am called to lead gain a understanding of what the last days are and what the end time me or
them. I believe that it is important for Christians to know what the last days are and what does
it have to do with them. And it is all responsibility as pastors and teachers to inform those that
we are called to lead about these very important topics because it is in connection to our faith
in Jesus Christ. I also believe that another issue that Christians need to be aware of is the final

judgment. Before I really understood what that meant I really did stand in fear in which we
should in some capacity but not in a fright for those who are walking with God and trusting in
him though we will give an account for all that we have done and said God also provides his
mercy and grace and the blood of Christ wiping away those sins so it's a moment of triumph for
us and not of doom and gloom in the body of Christ needs to be aware of this some but again it
comes through teaching. The last thing I think that the church needs to be more aware of and
that is about the rapture of the church. There are so many different views out there and people
giving misguided information and it sends people into a frenzy and that's not what God wants.
Three books I would like to read is: Eschatology: Biblical, Historical and Practical
Approaches, John D. Laing, Glenn R. Kreider, I believe this book will help enhance my learning
on eschatology and it will help strengthen my teaching on the subject. The Church Through the
Tribulation, Gordon Griffin, I hope that this book will help me to encourage the church that I
lead to know more about the tribulation and what it means for them. Lastly, A Down-to-Earth
Guide to Understanding The Most Mysterious Book of the Bible, Tim LaHaye, Timothy Parker,
this book will do just as the title says help in gaining a greater understanding of the book of
Revelation and help my church to have a thirst for this so very important yet mysterious book of
the bible.
Two specific actions that I plan on taking further is 1) in our church school of ministry I
am planning to include teachings on the last things in the teaching curriculum 2) I plan on doing
more teaching online with my ministry about Bible prophecy and teaching on eschatology. I
have a young lady that I know she's been under my teaching for many years but she's also a
part of this other Bible study and she had questions pertaining to the rapture of the church and
the mark of the beast and I found it interesting because the young lady she was doing the
teaching with was giving her wrong information. It is our responsibility to help teach others the
truth in this class will enable me to continue to do just .that
