Romans Essay
Having a biblical worldview is what gives us as Christians an outline to which we live our
lives by. A Biblical Worldview is described to us by Paul in Romans. When Paul writes about
God’s attributes, creation, and salvation a believer can see Paul’s strong belief in a Biblical
worldview. All throughout Romans we can read about God’s attributes. Like in Romans 1:17 it
tells us that a believer become righteous like God when they show their faithfulness in Jesus.
Romans 1:18 tells us though that God will judge and punish the sinners. We as believers and
followers of Jesus Christ are saved from an eternal death in Hell because of the Gospel and Jesus
sacrifice for us as stated in Romans 5:9. Romans 1:20 explains to us the people should not reject
God’s existence and they cannot due to how evident he is in our life and everything he has
created and done. Romans 1:25 explains how we as people who live on Earth tend to worship
creation over the person who created it our God. People tend to worship what they can see instead
of what they cannot see. According to Romans 2:2 and 14:12 as Christians we should love one
another and not judge each other because we all sin. They should instead let God judge because
he is holy and pure. As humans, we all fail it is in our sinful nature, it is not our place to judge
others for their sins when we also do the same.
Paul describes God’s attributes in Chapter 3 verse 4. God gives constant love and truth
he never waivers. God makes his promises and keeps them God promised Christians eternal life
with him in Heaven in Romans 4:17 God makes a promise to Abraham to give him many
descendants. When you live your life with Christ life is more whole I personally could not live
my life without Christ. Romans chapter 8 illustrates God’s loving characteristics through his
giving his only son for our sins so that we could live an eternal life with him. Believers no longer
have to be a slave to their own sins. Christians can be free to live a life for Christ, his spirit lives
in every person who calls upon him.
As believers, we believe that God is the creator of heaven and earth we are taught this in
Chapter 1 verse 20. Paul explains to us how easy it is to know God and that everyone can know
God by just simply looking at the nature around them they can see God’s work. Romans 1:21-23
predicted that people would deny that there is a creator of earth and they would instead try to
explain and focus on the animals. The study of evolution is just that. The study of evolution is an
example of how people could not see the work the creator has done. People do not want to submit
to his ways they want to have full control and do whatever they please even if it means not living
a life for God. Every person on Earth has been given a sense of morality by God Romans 1:32
states this. These people are aware of what they are doing. Instead, they refuse to listen they want
to do whatever they please and feel like they have complete control over their lives and they do
not have to answer to any. These people refuse to listen but they know deep down what they are
doing is wrong they tend to rationalize it and have a feeling of not being alone in their sin when
they pull others into their ways. Romans 5:12 explains to us where sin all began sin first entered
the world during the fall. The fall is when Adam ate from the forbidden tree and sinned against
God. Romans 5 tells us that due to Adams sins we are all sinners, Adams sins brought death and
most importantly caused there to be distance in his relationship with God. Romans tells us
believers and nonbelievers that even though we are all sinners due to Adam’s sin there is still
hope for us if we accept God’s gift of forgiveness. Romans Chapter 6 tells us though that we are
forgiven for our sins this does not mean as believer that we can continue in our sinful nature. We
as believers cannot manipulate God’s gift of forgiveness to us if we continue to live in sin we as
believers are not only being disrespectful to God but we are also defeating the whole reason as to
why God gave his only son. As believers we should want to live a life for Christ we are no longer
slaves to our own sin we should want to be like a servant to God. According to Romans 8 the
Holy Spirit lives in us believers it is a gift from God to help guide us to live a life for Christ.
Romans 8:6 States “Letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.” (New ‘Living
Translation).
We as believers should live our life for Christ we should act as a living sacrifice for him
this is stated in Romans 12. Meaning giving up our sinful natures and living a life for Christ.
Romans 12 provides believers with an example of how we believers can live a life for Christ
together.
When we compare Chapters 1 and 12 we can see a constant trend of examples of how
God is just. According to Romans 1:18 “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against
all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness.”(New
‘Living Translation). God will punish the people who are wicked and do not believe in him.
Romans 12:19 states that for all who are wicked will receive what they deserve from God. In
Romans 13 Paul tells believers to please God and listen to his request to love one another and
treat each other as you also would like to be treated. In Romans Chapter 1 Paul gives us visual
examples such as removing dirty clothes or immoral living, quarreling, jealousy, sexual
promiscuity, and other evil desires. Romans 13:14 states, “Instead, clothe yourself with the
presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.” (New Living Translation).
God calls each one of us to stand with Him in glory. All God wants is to have all his
children live an eternal life with him in heaven he wants us to live in glory with him. Romans
8:23 writes, “Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groaninwardly
as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.” (New ‘Living
Translation).
Paul explains to us that God shows himself to us in his creation of Earth. God is our
creator he created all things into existence. According to Romans 8:28 God has a plan which
makes everything work out in the end for the better. Paul emphasizes to us the importance of
being able to distinguish between good and evil. Having a biblical worldview gives us that ability
by using ethics. Paul explains to us as we read Chapter 1 of how sinful the world was compared
to living a holy life with the Holy Spirit present inside us. Word Count (1,240)
