What is a Worldview?
As the word itself suggests, a worldview is an overall view of the world (James
Anderson). Worldview is all about perspective and importance. We as Christians, should take a
Christian worldview on everything in life, because ultimately it is your way of life. As
individuals we take on different worldviews, so, we do not prioritize and believe in the same
things. What you believe in determines and affects how you live life, and what or who you’re
living for.
Questions Surrounding Worldview
First, we are faced with the question of origin, and how mankind came into existence.
The very first sentence in the bible states that God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1).
Man, also came from God, as we all know Adam and Eve were the first humans that were
created in the likeness of God. Isaiah 45:18 states, For the Lord is God, and he created the
heavens and earth, and put everything in place. Our existence came about in six short days, by
the hands of our almighty God.
Next, we answer the questions of Identity, what it means to be human and the importance
of humans over animals. Genesis 1:27, tells us that both male and female were created in the
image of God. To be human means to live and serve the God that created you in his image. In
Psalm 8:6-8, it says God put all things under us, so we are Gods most prized possession. There is

a very sweet and concise answer to this question, and it is to let the glory of the Lord live in and
through us. To be human means to be moral, and sinful in nature but always having our face
turned toward the father.
Humanities purpose is to glorify and honor God by living according to His word. Isaiah
43:7 states the ultimate purpose of man is to glorify God by knowing him and spreading His
word. This is just one of the reasons we are to live our lives in reverence to Christ. Another
purpose of humanity is to show others the goodness of God, because he called us out of the
darkness into the light (1 Peter 2:9). God is forever due our praise, for sacrificing his only son for
the sake of a dying world.
Morality is determined by Gods word and commandments, only he determines what is
right and wrong. When it comes to morality and right and wrong, God decides what is right and
wrong. “God approves of right actions because they are right and disapproves of wrong actions
because they are wrong” (God, Religion and Morality, n.d.). When it comes to being morally
right, the Apostle Paul says in Romans 2:15 “they demonstrate God’s law written in their hearts,
for their own conscience either accuses them or tells them they’re doing right.” We should model
our lives as best we ca after that of Christ, watching who and what we associate ourselves with.
Look at 1st Corinthians 15:33, bad company corrupts good character.
Lastly, we are faced with the question of destiny, is there really a life after death and
when I’m placed in the ground is that it? My belief is that I have a home in heaven after I leave
this earth. The bible tells us in Psalms 37:37, that a wonderful future awaits those who are honest
and good. I have always been taught that our lives are pre-destined and what is for me will be for
me. God will give us shelter and lead us to the spring of living water (Revelation 7:15-17). What
God has for you nobody but Him can take it away.

Worldview is defined by
The American Scientific
Affiliation as the
following: “a
worldview is a view of the
world, used for living in
the world” (Rusbult, n.d.).
The worldview

that a human takes, will
determine everything in
their lives. I take a
Christian worldview on
everything in life, while
somebody else may take
a non-religious worldview
on things. We both
take different worldviews
so we will not live our life
for the same reasons.
Whatever worldview
you take on anything will
affect how and what you
live your life for.

Answering worldview
questions for a biblical
worldview.
First, lets start off by
answering what is the
origin of the universe and
how humanity
came into existence. That
is a real easy question to
answer. The first
sentence in the bible
states
that God created the
heavens and the earth
(Genesis 1). God has

created everything you
see and
hear about in the world.
Humanity also came from
God. In Genesis 2:7, God
created man from
dust of the earth and
breathed life into him.
God is the reason
everything and everyone
is here,
He has created all things.
Next, let us answer the
questions of what it

means to be human and
are humans more
important than other
living things. Humans
were created in the
image of God (Genesis
1:27). To
be human means to live
and serve the God that
created you in his image.
In my opinion, humans
are more important than
other living things. In
Psalm 8:4-8, the author
talks about God making

humans a step below
angels and that
everything else is under
humans’ feet. It also
states in
Genesis 26-28 that
humans have dominion
over other living
creatures.
What is the purpose of
humanity? The short and
simple answer to this
question is to
