God and Man
Out of all the cosmological wonders of the universe with its vast
collection of biological inhabitants, no other form of existence is positioned
or designed to have a divine connection to God himself other than mankind.
To paraphrase the book Introduction to Psychology from a Christian
Worldview by Shawn George, Brian Kelly, and Rachel Piferi humanity is the
only living organism designed in such a way as to contain a uniting central
ethical system equipped to engage in and handle religious experiences
(George et al, 2023, P. 41). It can be argued that animals also have emotions,
memories, and thoughts however the distinguishing characteristic that
separates all capable species from that of Homo sapiens is consciousness.
Consciousness, in terms of purposeful intelligence, is the nature of the mind
to house scientific achievements and human advancements (George et al,
2023, P. 36). Due to man’s ability to process the natural world around them
on a level above all of creation, evidence suggests that God has positioned
this sect of organisms for a higher purpose interwoven with a personal
relationship with himself.
The reasoning for this level of devotion is made clear in Genesis 1:26, “And
God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them
