“Psychology is just sinful human beings sinfully thinking about sinful
human beings” is a rough statement in my opinion. “For we all have
sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23, Christian
Standard Bible, 2017). Lambert (2016) stated “Secular counseling is a
conversational intervention where an unbelieving man or woman seeks to
provide secular answers, solutions, and help to a person with questions,
problems, and trouble” (p. 18). A well-meaning secular counselor is
determined to help the client, which is not sinful. However, because they
are unbelieving, they are incapable of understanding what may be truly
wrong with the client and the spiritual healing they may need. Lambert
(2016) wrote to this by saying, “Biblical and Christian counselors agree
that psychologists make true observations that are often helpful” (p. 26).
33333333333 Psychology is the science on the brain. If we are true believers that
God is Omniscience, the belief that He has complete knowledge of
everything (Lambert, 2016, p. 115) then we would believe that what He
created was good. I firmly believe that God would not create science if it
was sinful; science in itself is good, however, outside of God it can be
abused. Psychology along with God can be good, since He created the
psychologists. However, when it is being used by people who do not
believe, they are simply lacking in the godly wisdom that is needed in
order to fully and truly heal.

“God is the author of all truth, and all things are “by Him, for Him” and
“hold together” in Him” (Entwistle, 2015, 184). Ultimately, I filter all
methods or ‘solutions’ through Scripture and if I find that they align with
the Word of God, I deem them helpful and will use them.
