STRATEGIC PLAN ASSIGNMENT
Introduction
Jesus gave a command and a mission before leaving earth. Then Jesus came to them and
said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the son and the Holy
Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you
always, to the end of age” (NIV). In this commission Jesus shows us and commands us to reach
out to those in the community, teach and give them instructions as Jesus did. The mission of the
church has not changed, it is still the same. God has given specific and different missions and
visions to individual churches so that they can adapt to their own. In the ministry of (TMP) The
Masters Plan, the leaders are required to assist in the areas of outreach in the community and
beyond. As a leader there is no sitting down in the ministry, we all have a job to do in the
Kingdom, and sitting down on the gifts is not one of them. And being taught and trained as a
leader will better equip the people to carry out the mission and vision. In ministry we all should
have the same goals to reach the people for Jesus and continue to build the Kingdom of God here
on earth. Every church has a different mission which is the first plan in the great commission.
When the church can strategically put the mission and vision of the church in place and align it
with the principles that God has set, the ministry will grow and flourish. We must be clear and
understand the walk and mission of ministry so that we do not get weary in our well doing. God
has called us to fulfill his purpose in our life. Dr. Faulls gives us three things that can make the
difference, “step forward believing God is on the move, our God given identity and God puts
leaders around people to work with.” Third is “Step forward believing in our victorious destiny,
Gods mission will have victory in the end.”

Mission
God strategically places the churches where He desires them to be. Every church is given
a different and specific mission that meets the needs of the area they are located in. The mission
of TMP is to properly position the people for their purpose. Through worshipping God, living the
scriptures, and building disciples who are healthy and fit for the Kingdom. The mission
statement of TMP is lived out daily in the ministry. In the mission statement you can take away
from the values of the ministry. There is value in worshipping God, living Biblically, and
developing healthy lifestyles and families are all key values of the church. These values are in
line with the Pastors values and the values that the congregation may have. Having a strong set
of core values is one of the biggest aspects of church growth. (Malphurs, 2013) says “Just as
personal values speak to what is most important in our lives, so a congregation’s values speak to
what is most important in the church’s life.” It is important for the pastor show strong core values
as well as have them. The same values the pastor shows are the same that the ministry should be
showing. These values should be the same or close to it. In the beginning of the mission
statement are instructions for the congregation to follow. Being properly prepared. The church
should be able to have a teachable spirit, where they can be given specific instructions and the
tools needed to be able to walk and live in their purpose. When a ministry is properly prepared
for their purpose, they can conquer and overtake the kingdom and community without fail.
Warren mentions that in order to build the church “you must set up a process to lead people to
deeper commitment and greater service for Christ.” When focused on what God has intended for
ministry the shift will begin and God is at work. It is the goal of TMP to reach the lives of those
that need guidance and direction and teach them to live how God intended. Growing healthy
families is the final part of the mission. There are families and people that are hurting, lost and
broken. Encouraging people and families to lean on other members or come to the leaders of the
church for help on how to deal with situations. Giving them scripture reference and knowing that
the Bible gives instructions on what should be done and how it should be done. When the church
has a mission, it is a guiding tool that is needed to help the church as it is growing the way that
God desires for it to and in the way that God wants it to. When these values are combined
together, this will clearly define the church. A mission with great guidance and a broader view is
needed as a church grows and the vision where God wants His church to go.

Vision
With the church vision it is essential for the church to continue. If the direction is clear
for the church, it is easy to stay the course and complete the assignment that God has put before
them. This is not just for the members of the church but also meant for the leaders as well. This
is not the same as the mission of the church. George Barna has a clear statement of what vision
is. He says, “Vision for ministry is a clear mental image of a preferable future imparted by God
to His chosen servants and is based upon an accurate understanding of God, self and
circumstances.” Strong leaders understand and see Gods true vision, and will show ways that the
vision is one that will glorify God and not themselves or the church. Barna says, “His (God)
vision is based on the values ad principles that are centered to His word and shows His character.
His vision is achieved through us but is not focused on us.” When the vision is pursued by the
leader and it is received, they have to hold on to what God wants for the ministry. This is also
important for those who are following the leader and they have an understanding of the results in
the end of that vision. The vision for TMP is driven by the mission to preparing the people for
their purpose. No matter where God says go, they will obey. The vision will potentially change
lives and engage in the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love: to strive for the
advancement of the church, in knowledge, holiness, and comfort: to promote prosperity and
spirituality; to sustain its worship, discipline, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and
regularly to support the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor and to spread
the gospel. Doing all this while healing and deliverance are taking place. The vision of the
ministry is reaching those within the community and beyond one soul at a time. Fulfilling this
without judgment as a disciple of Christ following the great commission. Jesus states that we
should go out and make disciples of all nations.
