“I, , pledge to complete this schoolwork in a manner consistent with God’s Biblical
mandate, demonstrating actions of integrity, and without resorting to cheating or
plagiarism.”
Reading Quiz Questions:
1) Define the parallel axis theorem. If you use an equation define all the terms. When is the
parallel axis theorem used?
The parallel axis theorem is when inertia of the body with an axis passing through the center
of the bodys mass. It is used to find the moment of inertia.
2) Define the equation of rotational motion in terms of moments and angular acceleration.
There are other terms that need to be included.
The sum of moments of all the external forces about the mass center of the body is the same
as the product of the moment of inertia of the body getting ready to pass through the body’s
angular acceleration.

There is a question on the back of the page!
3) Define the moment of inertial in an integral format. Define all of the terms.
Moment of inertial is the integral of the second moment about an axis of all the elements of
mass dm which composes the bodies.
