It was August 2013, everyone was posting on facebook about college starting next
week. I thought to myself, although it has now been eighteen years since I graduated high
school I am still saying “one day I am going to go to college”. There has always been an
excuse: cannot afford college, having a baby, doing well in my career. The time is now, I
decided to embark on my education! I began searching for a college. The first decision,
do I enroll in a traditional college or an online college? At nearly 37 years old I do not
want to spend the next six years earning a degree nor do I have the time between family
and work to attend night classes. After a little research I learned an online education
brought convenience and seemed to be geared towards me, the adult learner. Then came
the hardest part, choosing a college! With thousands of colleges and universities to
choose from and obviously at my age universities are not competing to get me; how do I
know which one is the right one? I prayed about it and asked God for his direction. While
attending a Women of Faith event God revealed his direction to me. God led me to
Liberty University Online through worship, prayer and advertisement.
