differences in these animal lovers. Statistics say that 67% of American homes include a pet, that is 85
million Americans. 95% of those Americans consider their pet a part of their family. Many Americans
spend 1 billion dollars a year just on pet insurance. The ownership of pets has increased in America by
20% since 1988. American dog owners consist of 53%, which is 63.4 million. American cat owners consist
of 35.7%, which is 42.7 million. The relaxed pet owner is an owner that does not have high expectations
for their pet. This pet owner does not get upset for their pet to make the occasional mess or is
hyperactive. They could care less about having a purebred pet. This pet owner is more focused on
making their animal comfortable and happy. You may be this type of pet owner if this situation seems to
meet your standards for pet ownership. A professional pet owner is an owner that does have high
expectations for their pet. These pet owners are extremely strict regarding discipline and training for
their pets. This pet owner is focused on having the best-purebred money can buy. The pet owner will
also place their animal into shows and events in hopes of winning prizes. These pets are often well
socialized with other people and animals, so they will remain calm when they need to focus on
important events. Professional pet owners will also make sure that their pets are groomed well at all
times. If these are all categories you may be interested in, you may be a professional pet owner. The
parental pet owner is the owner that tends to treat their pet like their children. These pet owners will
have a powerful emotional connection to their pets. Money is no object to spoiling their pet with gifts,
treats, and clothes. These pet owners may even have social media accounts for their fur babies. These
animals go everywhere with their owners. There is not a moment with the family that they miss. This
type of animal ownership is often seen everywhere today.
In conclusion, there are various types of animal ownership. All of which are all good masters to their
pets. I have traits from all three types of animal ownership traits. For example, I treat my dog like a part
of this family, while I have high expectations for him. Which animal owner are you?
