ANALYSIS MODELS-Data Modelling
software Engineering
___
Notes
DATA MODELING:
Analyzes data objects without regard to processing
Concentrates on the data domain
Develops a model at the customer's level of abstraction
Shows relationships between data objects
A RELATIONSHIP: WHAT IS IT?
There are various ways in which data objects are related to one another.
Because the two objects are related, a connection is made between the
person and the car.
A individual has auto insurance and owns a vehicle
The ownership and insurance status of a vehicle define the pertinent
relationships between the vehicle and its owner.
There may be multiple examples of a relationship;
There are numerous ways in which objects can be related.
Modeling Based on Class
Class-based modeling represents:
Objects that the system will manipulate;
Operations (also called methods or services) that will be applied to the objects
to effect the manipulation;
Relationships (some hierarchical) between the objects;
Collaborations that occur between the defined classes.
The elements of a class-based model include classes and objects, attributes, operations,
CRC models, collaboration diagrams, and packages.
CRC CARDS
Stands for Class, Responsibilities, and Collaborators is the acronym for the
framework Cunningham, Wilkerson, and Beck created.
Classes can be identified, as well as their duties, using CRC.
PARTNERSHIPS
An object can either achieve a given task on its own or it can need the help of
other objects.
In the event that it needs the help of other objects, it must work together with
those objects in order to complete its task.
Noun-Phrase Approach
In general, nouns and verbs provide information about classes and procedures,
respectively.
1. Convert plurals to singular and enumerate every term.
2. Sort them into three groups.
1. Pertinent courses
2. Ambiguous learning environments
3. Irrelevant courses—delete them
3. Examine classes that are duplicates.
4. Investigate the categories that employ descriptive terms.
If the descriptive term implies an additional behavioral aspect, establish a fresh
category.
5. Look into the possible characteristics.
They are just for the sake of reference.
6. Review the objective of the category.
Each category must have an objective.Get rid of it if we can't develop a statement
of purpose.
Defining Characteristics:
A class's characteristics are what make it up for consideration in the analysis
model.
create two distinct courses for baseball players who play professionally.
Name, position, batting average, fielding %, years played, and games
played may be important information for playing statistics software.
Average salary, credit toward complete vesting, selected pension plan
options, mailing address, and similar information are entered into the
Pension Fund software.
