Abstract
The Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) is an assessment based on measuring a person’s anxiety level
wither by a self – report or by a clinical professional in conjunction with other measure to
diagnose. The test was designed by Aaron T. Beck and has been used for quite some time. The
test can be completed by paper and pen method, through the internet, or orally administered. The
simplicity of the test makes it a good test to have on hand, but the test only suggest that the client
has had the list of symptoms for the past month and/ or currently suffering from the symptoms.
The reliability and validity of the test have been studied and it is suggested that both the
reliability and validity are significant. Further studies could conclude that the test may need to
be updated to include symptoms that are related to issues of present time, such as technology.
