RESEARCH PAPER: THESIS STATEMENT AND ANNOTATED
BIBLIOGRAPHY TEMPLATE
Proposed Topic:
The topic that I plan on discussing is juvenile delinquency and the percentage of reoffending in
the United States.
Proposed Thesis Statement:
There are various types of people in our criminal justice system. A specific group located
in the system is juveniles. Juveniles are being put into the criminal justice system at vast rates.
There are different ways to help juveniles not be put into the situation. We need to help the
juveniles who have been introduced to the system to not re-offend. Within this paper, I will
discuss juvenile delinquency and its problems, juveniles, and the reincarceration rate of
juveniles. The way juveniles are influenced and how to stop them from reoffending.

Annotated Bibliography
The first paper used in the literature review on juvenile delinquency and recidivism in the
United States examines markers of parental drug and mental health problems and
neuropsychological deficits in serious juvenile offenders. The author disputes the hazard
delegates that children face due to family biography and the relationships that influence
recidivism rates.
The second essay used in the paper is on juvenile delinquency and recidivism rates in the
United States “The Potential of Library Media Programs to Reduce Recidivism Rates among
Juvenile Offenders.” This article is about the unimaginable number of young people who
participate in some way in the criminal justice network and the potential benefits of giving
archive media programs to these young people to reduce recidivism rates.
The third composition for a literature review on juvenile delinquency and its recidivism
rates in the United States is “Community Disadvantage, Prosocial Bonds, and Juvenile
Recidivism: A Multilevel Mediation Analysis.” This article discusses how youth can be

adversely affected by the community, ranging from recidivism. The authors investigate the
effects of prosocial relationships and prosocial activities on youth recidivism rates.
The fourth article for a literature review on juvenile delinquency and recidivism in the
United States is “A Systematic Review of Psychological Trauma Interventions with Juvenile
Offenders.” In this article, the author discusses the effectiveness of trauma-specific interventions
for juvenile offenders. The authors also discuss the different genres of trauma that are available
to interfere with these juvenile offenders.
The fifth article for a literature review on juvenile delinquency and recidivism in the
United States is ``I Want to Have the American Dream.'' In this article, we will focus on what
materialism is and how it affects the chances of success in life. The author discusses how
materialism plays a major role in youth delinquency, as children strive to succeed in life based
solely on what they have.
The sixth article for a literature review on juvenile delinquency and recidivism in the United
States is ``Childhood Adversity Experiences, Negative Emotions, and Pathways to Juvenile
Recidivism.'' In this article, the authors discuss how adverse childhood experiences (ACEs)
influence a young person's likelihood of becoming a criminal simply due to events experienced
early in life. This article further discusses the risk factors associated with juvenile delinquency.
Each of these articles provides research and information about the risk factors for
juvenile delinquency in the United States and the risk of these youth reoffending. I will use this
