MINISTRYC INTERNSHIPC PROJECT:C PARTC 2C –C SPEAKING,C MINISTRY,C ORC JOBC
SEARCHC ASSIGNMENTC INSTRUCTIONS
OVERVIEW
The student has the option in this assignment to complete either a speaking project (sermon or
Bible study), a ministry project (outreach project, evangelistic lock-in, family fun night, etc.),
or job search application (or application for doctoral work). The purpose of this assignment is
to continue practice leading in ministry either through biblical teaching, a ministry event, or
help secure a ministry job (or pursue further education in doctoral work). The student will plan
and minister in conjunction with his/her site supervisor (and other ministry leaders, if
applicable). c This project will help grow congregants in their Bible knowledge or help grow
them in their service as the student coordinates a ministry project. If the job search or doctoral
program option is selected, the student will seek to gain more ministry/educational experience
for future ministry opportunities.
INSTRUCTIONS
See the following instructions and choose one of the three options to complete and upload in
the course:
• Speaking project—the student will need to schedule and speak in a church setting
(worship setting, Bible study, or the like).
o The speaking opportunity must be prepared by drafting a sermon/lesson manuscript.
Each manuscript must be 10-12 pages, double-spaced (12 point font, Times New
Roman).
o Following the speaking, the supervisor will critique it and submit the results to the
student (see the evaluation form attached).
o The student will upload the manuscript and supervisor evaluation in the course.
o Note: if the student serves as a senior/lead/preaching pastor, he/she must choose the
ministry project because preaching is a regular part of his/her job.
• Ministry Project—the student will help develop a ministry project for his/her specific
ministry setting in conjunction with the supervisor or another assigned ministry leader
(outreach project, evangelistic lock-in, family fun night, etc.).
o The student will write a 500-700 word paper, double-spaced, in current Turabian
format (12 point font, Times New Roman).
o The paper should include how the idea for the project developed, what preparation
was made, how the project was carried out, and what the initial results were.
o Note: the ministry project must be developed and completed during the course—no
past projects or projects planned for the future will be accepted. The supervisor will
help evaluate the project (see the attached evaluation).
o The student will upload the paper and supervisor evaluation in the course.
