Business Integrity Response
Response to Domenica
Business organizations should obey the laws and play by the rules to enhance fair
competition. Organizations should apply ethical principles and standards to their actions and
decisions (Gamble et al., 2019). Integrity in an organization is crucial for the enhancement of all
other values. It enables the business to grow and succeed. According to Christianity, business
does not exist only for short-term profits and shareholder wealth. Christians view business as a
way to serve others. A personal spirituality should be cultivated to enhance ethical leadership
(Melé Domènec & Joan, 2017). According to Keller (2014), Christians should conduct work
according to how God instructs them to do. Work should bring joy to the lives of others. The
Personal Performance decision model can be used to measure dissatisfaction at work (Krogerus
et al., 2018).
I agree with you that integrity is a very important virtue in business. Businessmen should
be integral in the way they conduct their work. Business should be done according to the set
rules and norms of what is right or wrong. Indeed, integrity enhances the ability of a business to
compete fairly, retain the reputation of a business, and ease decision-making (Safta, 2018).
However, I strongly believe that when people view business in terms of profits and wealth, it
does not qualify as a secular view. Any view that is contrary to the Christian view cannot be said
to be secular. I believe that such a view is far from sexual behavior and classification. It is just an
opinion from people who get into business to make profits (Keller, 2014).
