Integration of Faith and Learning Assignment
First Section
The Word of God instructs us “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as
working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance
from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” (Scofield, 1995, The Bible)
Thus, it is very important to understand that without surrendering our hearts to Jesus Christ and
building our lives on faith in Him, all we do is meaningless and futile. How does the biblical
truth apply to the study of data analysis? In Proverbs 1:7, the Lord says “The fear of the Lord is
the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (Scofield, 1995, The
Bible) The Lord tells us to study his word and to not let evil persuade our minds. In Joshua 1:9,
the Lord says “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and
do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Scofield, 1995, The
Bible) Whenever we read or hear something that is questionable, we should remember what we
believe and who we believe in. For example, if someone is persuading us how the world is going
to end, we ultimately know the correct answer. We should not rely on the world of others, but
instead the Lord’s. Southwest Airlines is commonly acknowledged for its customer service
representation, and the corporate diversity setup. A bearing issue that Southwest Airlines
regularly faces, like any airline, is the safety and protection over the customer and air flight
attendees while keeping profits up. (Adedoyin, 2021) Regulating profits and protection measures
could potentially cause challenges to arise. For example, Southwest Airlines could become
financially unstable causing them to decrease safety measures, and that risks the safety and
protection over airline passengers. To learn the framework of these verses, individual needs to
consider the more extensive theological narrative. (Tirrell, 2018) Both Proverbs and Joshua

stress the significance of honor, morality, and treating remainder of something in consideration
of these education plan out the prosperity of individuals over profit or individual gain. Proverbs
21:3 states “To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.” Luke 6:31
says “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” Proverbs 22:1 says “A good name is
more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.” (Scofield, 1995,
The Bible)
Second Section
Data analysis is the process of using summary statistics and visualization to gain an
understanding of the data, including the identification of patterns. (Camm, 2023) From a
Christian standpoint, the paramount goal is the safety and good-being of individuals. Proverbs
21:3 states that the right or wrong actions of an individual’s doing holds more value to the Lord
than mere sacrifice. Regarding to the example of Southwest Airlines, Proverbs provides the idea
that the airline needs to make the safety and comfort of airline passengers more important than
the profits that are being collected. The Golden Rule, referred by Luke 6:31, is often something
we know and live by. That is treat others as you want to be treated. Southwest Airlines should
place themselves in the passenger’s shoe. If they aren’t comfortable getting on a plane, then
more safety precautions and measures should be taken. They shouldn’t put a passenger’s life at
risk if they would not put their own life to risk. Proverbs 22:1 explains the importance of
creating, having, and keeping a good reputation over prosperity. (Harris, 2020) Airlines are a
highly competitive industry. What separates Southwest Airlines from other ones is its’ ethics and
charismatic measures. Southwest commits and rules by its’ ethics to ensure airline passengers are
safe and comfortable during each flight. This supports the reputation of Southwest Airlines. The
more safety measures, the more comfortableness of passengers, the more profit then arises. In

Proverbs 1:7 we learn that fear arises within the human. We, God’s people, should continue to
fulfill our duties as Christians to share the word of God. As an airplane starts to lift some get
nervous; so, praying to the Lord, our God, will ease these nerves. Joshua 1:9 reminds us to be
strong and courageous. Many people get offended quickly by the word “God.” We are reminded
to stand strong like the story David and Goliath. Stones will be thrown, but the Lord will protect
us.
Third Section
It is important to understand and apply the truth of the Bible in our decision making on
both personal and business levels. In Joshua 1:9 we are told on how-to walk-through life. That is
to be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or discourages, for the Lord your God will be with
you whenever you go. Life will throw trials and tribulations, but we are to rely on God’s word
for guidance through those events. Proverbs 1:7 shares with us life will go when we share the
world of God with others. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise
wisdom and instruction.” (Scofield, 1995, The Bible) Proverbs 22:1 tells us how to live a good,
successful life. God tells us the important of doing good in the world, because ultimately that
will begin a good reputation. God tells us that a good reputation is more important that the
profitability that someone brings in. In Proverbs 21:3, we are reminded that doing what is right is
more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. Saying “no” rather than “just this once” is more
important in the eyes of the Lord. The Bible guides us on how to live a good, Christian life for
Jesus. But in that, we are Christians, and as Christians we have duties to fulfill. We must obey
the commandments, pray, forgive, work hard, honor the Lord, and most importantly, share the
world of Christ with others. It is important to pray and ask God for guidance on each and every
decision, because it will ultimately impact our life. On a business level, keeping good ethics and
5
following those, being honest with others, customers, or contractors, and putting customers first
over profit are important Biblical values to follow. Yes, buying cheaper equipment increases
profit, but is that what the Lord would want? We have to often remind ourselves, and businesses,
what is most important. That is following the Lord and making the right decisions so that we
may have eternal life. The most important decision of all is following Jesus and accepting him
into our hearts.

Abstract
Given the mentioned biblical principles, it is obvious that ethical issues ought to be at the
forefront of any company's strategy and policy, including Southwest Airlines. By upholding
these values, they not only conform to a Christian viewpoint but also distinguish themselves in a
sector where customer safety and trust are of utmost importance. It may be difficult to strike a
balance between business success and moral principles, but the Bible makes the case that,
overall, the benefits of acting morally are much higher.
