Biblical Worldview Essay
BIBL 104
At some point in almost all of our lives we’ve either read the Bible, or heard passages
from it. Christians want to live Godly lives, and alter their lives based off the teachings from the
Bible; this is how a Biblical Worldview comes to be. In a sense the Bible can be used as a guide
for how we should live our lives. In Romans 1-8 Paul shares the wonderful news about salvation
through Christ, and how we can achieve it.
We know that God is our Creator from the very first line of the Bible, “In the beginning,
God created the heaven and the earth” (Genesis 1:1 King James Version). We can see God’s
work in the natural world every single day from the trees, animals, and even ourselves. We can
also see God in natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes, and tornadoes. While we are able to
see God’s beauty it is easy to forget His wrath for sinners, and those who do not accept Jesus
Christ as their Savior; we’re reminded of His wrath when such terrible natural disasters occur.
“For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood
by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without
excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful,
but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened” (Romans 1:20-21
King James Version). This tells us that God showed himself through his creation, however
people continuously rejected it; this rejection continues to happen in modern times despite
everything that shows God and all his Glory in nature.
It’s easy to see that mankind is God’s greatest, and most unique creation. We were
created in His own image. However, while we were created in His image we aren’t nearly as
perfect as Him. We are born into sin making us sinful by nature, humans sin everyday no matter
how Godly the lives we lead may be. Our saving grace is turning to Christ and repenting our
sins, and seeking forgiveness. “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we
stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God” (Romans 5: 1-2 King James Version), our God is
a loving, forgiving God; it is our responsibility to take action and seek God’s grace. This being
the situation Paul made it his responsibility to spread the word about God to everyone he
possibly could. Christianity is based on faith and understanding, any and everyone is accepted
and loved by God our Father, so long as they trust in Him.
Relationships can both be wonderful and difficult at times depending on the situation. We
are taught to love each other, however at times that seems to be almost impossible. Humans are
sinful by nature; this causes us to commit sinful acts with those we have relationships with. Not
only does sin lead to failed relationships with others, but they can take an emotional toll on us
also. We can become distant from not only ourselves, by even further from God if we continue to
commit sins whether it be having sex out of wedlock, doing drugs, hating someone, and so many
others. It is so important to have a strong relationship with God, and a strong Christian
Worldview in today’s society to help us resist the urges to commit sin. In most cases we know
better, but we still choose to be sinners anyways. We weren’t created to only live for ourselves,
and love ourselves. Selfishness puts a strain not only on our relationships with others, but our
relationship with God as well. The relationship we have with God is one of the most important
relationships we will have, it plays a major role in our relationships with ourselves, and others.

There are thousands of cultures in the world today, that being said it is very important to
remember the differences people may have from us. From a personal perspective, I was raised in
a small town in Southwest Virginia my cultural roots are completely different from those who
grew up in a huge city in California. Someone from the small villages in the mountains in China
have an extremely different cultural from myself and everyone else. We all face so many
differences, and experience hate and judgement for our cultural backgrounds. One of the biggest
issues we all face with different cultures is different religious beliefs. Even though we’re taught
God is out Father, and he is the only God, we need to respect and accept others for what they
believe. Telling someone what they believe is wrong because it’s not what we as Christians
believe is not okay. Having an understanding of other religions and cultures can help us widen
our worldview, and help us be more understanding of others. Having a Biblical worldview is
key in situations like this, because it helps us to teach others that are interested in Christianity
about what we believe in a manner that isn’t confusing, or making it seem as if their religion is
wrong and mine is the only way.
The book of Romans is a wonderful book that is full of information that guides us down
the path to leading a Godly life. It shares the news of Jesus Christ our Savior, and how we can
receive God’s love and forgiveness. Paul did an amazing job spreading God’s word to the
people of the ancient world, and his words are doing the same for Christians today. Romans
covers everything we could possibly need answers to in our journey with God. As long as we
stay true to ourselves and turn to God every day we will always be on the right path.
