Writing through literature

Assignment #1

Discussion Question(s): Provide an example of two quotations from the story that you will use in your paper. Provide a commentary for each one and show how you will cite each parenthetically using MLA documentation style. 

This week you will be looking for quotations from the sources you will be using to write your rough draft on The Story of An Hour.  You will be providing two quotes and explaining the connections they have with the theme of freedom and confinement.  Remember to cite the sources you are using with proper parenthetical documentation.

Assignment #2

Create a 2-3 page, double-spaced rough draft of your paper, focusing on the literary analysis of the text outlined in last week's assignment.(Last week's assignment is attached) Make sure to upload your outline IN ADDITION to your rough draft. It is best to do this in one complete document. 

Rough Draft Requirements:

• MLA format, including a works cited page
• 2-3 double-spaced pages, exclusive of the works cited page
