Portfolio (PDF)

Portfolios must include revised drafts of at least three of our major projects. Two of these projects must illustrate source-based composing. All projects in the portfolio must include numbered drafts with teacher and peer feedback. The portfolio must include a detailed reflective cover letter that considers your progress in ENGLISH 101 and guides readers in how to evaluate your portfolio .  Every composition course uses this method of postponed grading, to ensure that the focus of the course is on your writing. The portfolio will be evaluated holistically at the end of the semester, and may be reviewed by other readers.

 Cover letter: Samples use several examples from the student's own work and connect them carefully to multiple 101 Portfolio Outcomes .Successful cover letters will select and demonstrate at least 4 areas of the 101 Portfolio Outcomes. This usually makes the cover letter about 4 pages long. --------Here are the basic steps for drafting the Reflective Cover Letter:--------1. Choose one or two elements of the 101 Portfolio Outcomes document 2. Choose one or two sections of your Project 1, 2, 3, 4, or Novel Project3. Write one or more paragraphs in your own words, citing your own work clearly, and showing how you demonstrated item [1.] in item [2.] above. 4. Repeat steps 1-3 until you have covered at least 4 Portfolio Outcomes thoroughly. 

Important Notes:

1. Portfolio submission must be a single, well-organized document in PDF format. Other formats will not be accepted.
2. Documents included _must_ clearly show revision across multiple drafts. (<--- failure to show revision may result in a failing grade) This means including peer and teacher comments on drafts.
3. Include three of our five major projects, with most recent drafts first, and a table of contents
