Instructions

Recall from Chapter 2 that brain function and structure are subject to environmental influences. Four of these are good nutrition, mental stimulation, physical fitness, and stress management. For this journal entry, you have three options or perspectives on which you can base your response. You only need to choose one perspective for your response.
From one of the perspectives listed below, reflect on and share an example of each of the four influences listed above where: 

1. you as a parent facilitate or encourage behaviors in your child or children to positively affect brain function and structure;
   
2. your parents encouraged your behavior as a child to positively affect your brain function and structure; or
   
3. you can implement behavior in your own life to positively affect your brain function as you grow older.
4. Your journal entry must be at least 200 words in length. No references or citations are necessary.
