Nonprofit Organization Analysis
Throughout the course, you have been examining aspects of nonprofit management. This week you will put all of this information together from previous assignments to analyze a nonprofit you created. You are the chief executive officer (CEO) of the hypothetical organization you have been using throughout this course. You have been hired by and report to the board of directors.
Prior to beginning work on this assignment,
· Read Chapter 12 in the textbook.
· Consider reviewing Chapters 1 through 7, 10, 11, 13, and 15.
In your paper,
· Describe the hypothetical nonprofit organization. You may use the organization you have been working with during this course.
· Describe the type of nonprofit.
· Include the mission statement for your nonprofit.
· Include the values statement for your nonprofit.
· Discuss what your nonprofit does to meet the mission statement.
· Discuss your organization’s commitment to diversity.
· Assess the challenges you would face specific to the chosen organization type.
· Identify at least two challenges due to the type of organization you chose for your nonprofit.
· Describe how you would address these challenges.
· Evaluate the role of the governance board and the CEO with respect to your hypothetical organization.
· Discuss the purpose of the governance board and CEO in your organization.
· Discuss the role the CEO and the board play in your organization.
· Assess the importance of having a culturally diverse governance board.
· Explain the issues you, the CEO, would face in your role and in your relationship with the board.
· Identify the federal and state guidelines or regulations that would impact decision-making within your organization.
· Discuss why these guidelines or regulations apply to your organization and decision-making process.
· Explain how you would ensure you operate within these guidelines.
· Defend your method to ensure sound financial management of your organization.
· Describe a method you would use to ensure sound financial management of your organization.
· Justify why these reporting mechanisms are appropriate for your organization.
· Defend the type of fundraising strategies you would use for your organization.
· Develop at least two fundraising strategies for your nonprofit.
