Board Leadership [WLO: 1] [CLO: 1]
The governance board of a nonprofit provides leadership and direction to the organization, while the CEO’s job is to work towards achieving the mission of the organization. Sometimes ideas align between these two pieces and sometimes there are challenges.
Prior to beginning work on this discussion forum,
· Read Chapter 5 in the textbook.
· Read Clash of the Nonprofit Titans: Managing Board and CEO Conflicts Links to an external site. .
In your initial discussion forum post,
· Describe how the role of the board and the role of the CEO might clash or create conflict.
· Describe at least two specific conflicts that might come up.
· Propose at least one way to address one of the conflicts you described.
