 Directive 95/46/EC will not allow an investigator to process any  personal data on computer or any digital devices unless several legal  conditions are met.  

Describe how European Union (EU) investigators must treat the  personal data of its citizens during an e-discovery investigation, and  consider the following questions:

1. What are the legal conditions that would allow investigators to process personal data on a computer or digital devices?  

2. What are some of the challenges both EU and U.S. investigators  must face if they wish to transport e-discovery evidence across  international borders?
