What considerations have you given as to the trade issues between these two companies and exactly how might you overcome Chinese government resistance to having an American energy company franchising, especially since franchising required a change in Chinese law and is still relatively in its infancy?  

2. How could any organization seeking to expand into China use this information to their advantage?

3. Specifically, what are the strategies that have to be followed and are the objectives and goals only for recommendations and cost implementation? Exxon is a large multi-national conglomerate. Besides the likelihood of the organization being prepared as a company for any expansion, what are the external environmental challenges such as global political transitions that this company may face? Is it highly unlikely Exxon would run out of product?
