DSRT-736: Dissertation Seminar: 5.1 - Introduction, Search Strategy, and Headings

 Overview: The introduction to the literature review describes the overall topics of the literature review, the search strategy for finding the topics and sub-topics, and provides a transition into the rest of the chapter. 

Directions: 

1. Locate the dissertation template for your specific research methodology (refer to the attached template) and write a minimum of 5-pages to develop an introduction for Chapter Two, including the following:
2. Clearly explain the overall research topic.
3. Literature gathering process known as the Search Strategy.
4. The scope and organization of the literature review.
5. The introduction should conclude with a paragraph that describes the sequence of the literature you will include and the literature analysis process.
6. After the introduction, you should incorporate possible headings/subheadings that you plan to cover and include at least 20 possible scholarly references. To help you with headings and subheadings, please review APA 2.26 & 2.27. 

Tip: Use past tense when discussing previous research studies. Example: Smith (2024) discussed.......

Notes:

- Information is drawn from recent, credible sources, critically analyzed, synthesized, and presented with clear organization. More than 50% of sources are within the past 5 years. The writing is coherent, showing clear alignment with the research focus and dissertation topic.

- Fully meets all assignment requirements as outlined in the doctoral research handbook, with comprehensive attention to each specified area. Demonstrates strong alignment with the dissertation’s broader sections, as applicable, showing thoughtful integration and cohesion. 

-  Demonstrates a professional level of skills associated with grammar, spelling, syntax, verb tense, (past), objective point of view, and scholarly voice. Rules of grammar, usage and punctuation are followed; spelling is correct. Language is clear and precise; sentences display consistently strong, varied structure. 

-  Consistently adheres to 7th edition APA guidelines in in-text citations, references, tables, and dissertation formatting. Minimal to no errors, reflecting graduate-level attention to detail.
