Culturally appropriate Guidance techniques

After reading the posted article on Culturally appropriate guidance and after listening to the podcast please type a journal entry that discusses three key points that you learned in the article and the podcast.  How will you implement these ideas in your own classroom when working with young children?  How is culturally appropriate guidance different then just guidance in a classroom?  Did you have any ideas that really surprised you after learning more about culturally appropriate guidance?
